Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other:
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The chemicals included technical and analytical grade, pesticidal, pharmaceutical, and other commercial or experimental compounds that were either purchased or solicited from cooperating firms. Wild-trapped birds were preconditioned to captivity for 2 to 6 weeks and were usually dosed by gavage with solutions or suspensions of the test chemical in propylene glycol, according to methods described by DeCino et al. (1966), Schafer (1972), and Schafer et al. (1967). Other oral dosing methods were occasionally used (pellets, gelatin capsules). LDs0 values were calculated by the method of Thompson (1948), Thompson and Weil (1952), and Well (1952).
