Additional information

Based on REACH regulation ANNEX VII column 2 (Specific rules for adaptation from column 1)

the study does not need to be conducted if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule

Justification for classification or non-classification

Squalene is not classified as an explosive substance because it doesn't meet the classification criteria of the CLP regulation n. 1272/2008: "a screening procedure is aimed at identifying the presence of such reactive groups and the potential for rapid energy release (2.41.4.2). The molecule of the substance has not chemical groups associated with explosive properties. No decomposition occurs at high temperature.
