Description of key information
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance is insoluble in water or if the substance is readily biodegradable.
Ferrocene is only slightly soluble in water (7 mg/L) and although not readily biodegradable, it mineralises linearly over a period of 40 days. In addition, exposure considerations must be taken into account. Ferrocene is a fuel additive and is burned so exposure to the water compartment will be negligible. Therefore taking all the above into account this study has been waived
