Description of key information

Pseudomonas putida 17 hour EC10: 1990 mg/L

Pseudomonas putida 17 hour EC50: 3940 mg/L

Pseudomonas putida 17 hour EC90: 6903 mg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
3 940 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
1 990 mg/L

Additional information

The 1,4 -butynediol 17 hour EC10 for aquatic invertebrates provided in a relieable study comparative to a DIN38412 guideline study is 1990 mg/L; the 17 hour EC50 is 3940 mg/L (BASF AG 1987). This result is supported by microorganism toxicity data from three well-documented publications that indicate a low degree of toxicity to microorganisms (Seward et al. 2001; Chen et al. 2002; Chen et al. 1996).
