Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling

Description of key information

Boiling point: HEBMP-H will undergo thermal decomposition without boiling.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The requirement to conduct a boiling point study for HEBMP-H was waived because the substance is expected to undergo thermal decomposition without boiling. This statement is supported by the evidence from the read-across DSC study which demonstrated that the sodium salt, HEBMP-xNa melts with decomposition without boiling from 129°C at 1013 hPa. The parent acid would also be expected to undergo thermal decomposition.

In secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, boiling point values of >100°C and 105°C with a decomposition temperature of >200°C after evaporation of water were reported for aqueous solutions of HEBMP-H.
