the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low potential to cross biological membranes

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance is not expected to bioaccumulate. It is a UVCBS composed largely of constituents that are natural components of all biological membranes. Although the weighted average log Kow for the substance is >3, the substance has a low potential to cross biological membranes because its components partition into membranes and have very low water solubility. In addition, the substance fulfils the criteria for ready biodegradability.
