Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure. Obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water,
holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. Obtain
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with water. If
symptoms occur, obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Obtain medical attention, treat
symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen together with hydrogen fluoride and soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Suitable protective equipment should be worn in fire
conditions. Fire-fighters should wear a self-contained
breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up and shovel into waste drums or plastic bags for
disposal. Disposal should be in accordance with local, state
or national legislation, e.g. by incineration or at a
landfill site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe dust.

When charging reactors, wear protective clothing, gloves and
eye protection. If handling bulk quantities, also wear a pvc
apron and positive draught air-fed respirator hood to avoid
mechanical irritation and inhalation of any dust.

Storage: No special precautions.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 kg steel drums, with plastic liners.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: There are no known hazardous effects. However, treatment
with dilute alkali will result in partial hydrolysis. (A632)

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an authorised landfill site is possible. (A650)

Discharge to water is not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method of disposal. Incinerate above 1100 deg C,
with waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen oxides and
hydrogen fluoride. (It is possible to destroy the substance
at the lower temperature of 950 deg C, by employing longer
incineration times). (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Appreciable degradation is expected with no inhibition of
the respiration role of activated sewage sludge.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
