Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with copious quantities of water. If
irritation develops, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
used.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen, hydrogen cyanide and hydrogen bromide together
with some soot.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self contained breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
For local spillages, sweep material carefully into a plastic
liner and contain within a plastic drum. Avoid dispersing
dust into the air. Dispose of in accordance with local
regulations. Flush contamination area with copious
quantities of water.
Handling and storage
chemicals.
Protective gloves, paper suits, safety glasses (BS 2092) and
dust masks should be worn. Where dust generation cannot be
avoided, provide and use local exhaust ventilation.
Storage: Store in original tightly closed container in a dry, well
ventilated room.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25 kg fibre-board drums, double lined with anti-static
polyethylene liners.
