Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
208 °C

Additional information

The melting point of DEC is 208 - 210°C. Since this information is cited from a well established handbook for physical and chemical properties, i.e., CRC Handbook of Data on Organic Compounds, 1985, Volume I A-O, page 555, this information is considered to be reliable. Furthermore, the EPIWIN 4.10 QSAR software refers to an experimental determined melting point of 208°C.

For the risk assessment, the lower value, i.e., 208°C will be used.
