Additional information

The explosive properties of PSOA (Peroxy sulfonated oleic acids) were determined following EU A.14. In the test for thermal sensitivity, no explosion was observed. In the test for mechanical sensitivity (shock), no explosion was observed using an energy of 40 J. The test for mechanical sensitivity (friction) was not conducted, because of the liquid nature of the test item. The test item PSOA (Peroxy sulfonated oleic acids) can be considered as: “not explosive under the conditions of guideline EU A.14”.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of the "explosive properties" test , the test item PSOA is not classified according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) with respect to explosiveness.
