Additional information

Biodegradation: A test on ready biodegradability was conducted according to OECD Guideline 301 C (Ready Biodegradability: Modified MITI Test (I)) using tert-Butylamine, the hydrolysis product of tert-butyl isocyanate. After 28 days tert-Butylamin showed 0 % degradation. Therefore tert-Butylamin and thus tert.-Butylisocyanate as well, is not readily biodegradable (MITI, 2001). Bioaccumulation: In a bioaccumulation test, corresponding to OECD Guideline 305C, a BCF of 9 (0.1 mg/L) and 0.86 (1 mg/L), respectively, was determined for tert-Butylamine, the hydrolysis product of tert-Butyl isocyanate (MITI 2001). Adsorption: The estimated LogKoc value for tert.-Butylamine, the hydrolysis product of tert-Butyl isocyanate is 1.56 (Currenta, 2011).
