4% 1-phenylethyl acetate was not considered to cause contact allergy in humans according to a study performed in line with Kligman (1966) The Identification of Contact Allergens by Human Assay III. Additional information

The key study (Kligman, 1970) was performed in line with the protocol for the Maximization Test for determining contact allergy in humans but not to GLP with a sufficient level of detail to assess the quality of the study. The study was performed in line with sound scientific principles and was assigned a reliability score of 2 in accordance with Klimisch (1997).
