General information

Status:
67/548/EEC self classification
Remarks:
Based on eye corrosion/irritation test results, the following changes are made to the harmonised classification 615-004-00-3 “salts of thiocyanic acid, with the exception of those specified elsewhere in this Annex”: An additional classification "Xi: R41; risk of serious damage to eyes" is added based on test results. (The available data in this dossier and what is available for the category of thiocyanates suggest that the harmonised classification is possibly overclassifiying for some endpoints: thiocyanate ions are readily biodegradable making classification "R52/53" questionable, and no data could be retrieved that supports classification Harmful by inhalation “R20” or in contact with skin “R21”.)
