Description of key information

Not relevant due to ready biodegradation.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Since 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediyl dioctanoate (CAS No. 31335-74-7) is readily biodegradable, it is expected to be eliminated from the aquatic environment within a short period of time. Hydrolysis is therefore not a relevant degradation pathway. In accordance with column 2 of Annex VIII 9.2.2.1 of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, testing for hydrolysis is not required as the substance is readily biodegradable.
