Additional information

The acute toxicity of a sample of GTL Kerosine has been determined in a test with the aquatic invertebrate Daphnia magna. The test was conducted in accordance with OECD Test Guideline 202 and GLP (Vryenhoef, 2011).

Water accommodated fractions (WAFs) were prepared at a nominal concentration of 100 mg/l and the test was performed with semi-static test medium renewal. Test vessels were sealed with ground glass stoppers to minimise volatile losses from the test system. Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analysis showed no measureable difference between fresh and expired test solutions. There was no immobilisation of daphnids during the 48 hour exposure period.

The test results, expressed as the EL50value, showed that the sample was not acutely toxic to Daphnia at a loading rate of 100 mg/l.
