First-aid measures

Eye contact: Immediately rinse eyes thoroughly with running water as long as possible (approx. 15 min). Take injured quickly to factory medical center or call an ambulance (code word: eye accident).

Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse contaminated skin immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Inhalation: Immediately move to fresh air. Consult a physician if irritating symptoms develop and persist.

Ingestion: Only as long as the patient is fully conscious: wash mouth and have the victim drink copious amounts of water (often vomiting will be induced). Consult a physician immediately or call for an ambulance and show label.

Notes to Physician: General measures to eliminate the substance and to reduce absorption. Apply general supportive and symptomatic treatment. Potential for skin sensitisation.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray or fog, foam, dry chemical powder, CO2, sand
Extinquishing media, not to be used: no restrictions

Protective equipment for firefighters: wear self contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Environmental precautions: Must not be released into seweres, drains or wells.
Methods for cleaning: Transfer large quantities into a container, rinse the rest with plenty of water.
Accidental release: Equipment and protective garments must be decontaminated appropriately. Waste must be properly contained and labelled for disposal.

Handling and storage

Preventive precautions: Observe the usual precautionary measures required for chemicals with dust explosive properties (Observe national regulations).
Technical measures: Preferably handle in closed system.
Storage and handling precautions: Handle in closed system. Provide exhaust ventilation system in case of open handling of small quantities. Avoid leaving residues on the package. Avoid formation of dust. Keep warehouse clean. Open handling without suitable personal protective equipment must be avoided.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Industrial hygiene: Double wardrobe must be available. At the end of the shift and before taking breaks, wash your hands. Avoid contact with skin. Minimize open handling. Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing. Dedicated washing, changing and shower facilities should be available. Avoid repeated exposure. All equipment and protective garments must be either decontaminated or properly contained for disposal before leaving the area. All areas where this material is handled must be labelled as a Designated Area. Access to Designated Areas shall be limited to authorised personnel only.

Stability and reactivity

Material to avoid: stong oxidizing agents.

Disposal considerations

Disposal requirements: Incineration in an approved, controlled furnace with combustion gas scrubbing and emission gas control.
