Additional information

Ethylene urea caused no toxic effect on soil macroorganisms (Eisenia fetida) and soil microorganisms. The toxicity to terrestrial plants was not investigated. However, the lack of any toxic effects on soil invertebrates, soil microorganisms and in aquatic tests on all three trophic levels indicate a low hazardous potential of ethylene urea. Furthermore, ethylene urea has a low potential for adsorption to soil particles (log Koc of 0.68), has no bioaccumulative properties (log Kow of -0.74) and is readily biodegradable. Therefore, further terrestrial test are not required.
