Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

yes (incl. QA statement)

no
Details on study design: HPLC method:
The substance was separated by liquid chromatography on a cyanopropyl phase under isocratic conditions. The detector measures absorption of UV light (diode array detector). The retention time thus determined is converted into the corresponding k' value. The dead time for the column is determined with nitrate.
The test substance was dissolved in methanol (10,2 mg in 10 ml), diluted tenfold with water (0.1 ml to 1.0 ml) and chromatographed twice under conditions identical to those for the reference substances.

INSTRUMENT:
HP 1090 liquid chromatograph (HewlettPackard)

STATIONARY PHASE:
125 mm x 4 mm, cyanopropyl, particle diameter 5 µm (LiChrospher 100 CN, LiChroCART 125-4, Merck, Darmstadt)

ELUENT:
98 % vol.: water, pH = 7.1
2 % vol.: acetonitrile

FLOW RATE:
1 ml/min

VOLUME INJECTED:
100 µl

DETECTION:
UV (simultaneous at 200 nm, 205 nm and 210 nm)
Type:
log Koc
Value:
< 1.25

Description of key information

Adsorption to the solid soil phase is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Based on the results of an HPLC measurement according to OECD Guideline 121, the log Koc of ‘2-Propyn-1-ol, compound with methyloxirane’ was estimated to be < 1.25 [BASF AG, 1999]. This indicates that the test substance will not bind to soils and sediments.
