Additional information

First, a safety test was performed. A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner in order to derive safety precautions. The test item melted to a yellow liquid. The liquid burned even after the burner had been removed.

In the preliminary screening test following the EU and UN method, the test item was heated with the flame of a gas burner. The test item melted to a yellow liquid and small flying sparks were observed. No ignition occurred within two minutes.

Therefore, the test item Resin acids and Rosin acids, tall oil, fumarated, compds. with triethanolamine / Resin acids and Rosin acids, fumarated, compds. with triethanolamine should be considered as not highly flammable.

The test substance does not contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with water and/or to the evolution of a flammable gas. Moreover the test substance was dissolved in water during the determination of the water solubility. It demonstrated that the test substance does not ignite spontaneously in contact with water.
