Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
The EC10 (3 h) of 13 mg/L was determined in an OECD test 209 (GLP, reliability 1). The effect concentration is based on active substance.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- EC50 for microorganisms:
- 23.6 mg/L
- EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
- 13 mg/L
Additional information
Two respiration inhibition studies are available according to OECD TG 209 for 3 -(Isodecyloxy) propylamine and 3 -(Isodecyloxy)propylamine acetate, respectively. The substances have the same chemical structure with the only difference being the presence of acetate. Acetate is not expected to have an influence on the microbial toxicity. Therefore the results have been read-across. As the effect concentrations are within the same order of magnitude for the two studies (actually less than a factor of 2-3 difference between the two substances), the EC10 of 13 mg/L has been preferred over the NOEC of 6.25 mg/L as key value for toxicity towards micro-organisms.
The studies were performed under GLP and were assigned reliability 1 because all validity criteria were fulfilled.
The toxicity of 3-(Isodecyloxy)propylamine and its acetate was determined by measuring the inhibition of the respiration at a contact time of 3 hours. The EC50 is 23.6 mg/L for 3 -(Isodecyloxy)propylamine and 35.3 a.i. mg/L for the 3 -(Isodecyloxy)propylamine actetate respectively. The EC10 was 13 mg/L for the etheramine and the NOEC was 6.25 mg/L for the etheramine acetate. All concentrations are based on active ingredient. The effect concentrations confirm similar toxicity of both substances towards micro-organisms.
