Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental data investigating the hydrolysis of sodium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate (CAS No. 2702-72-9) are available. This substance is highly soluble (water solubility 335 g/L) and it rapidly dissociates in water, being 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (CAS No. 94-75-7) its main product. Therefore, a conclusion on this endpoint was drawn based on the hydrolysis of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. The hydrolysis of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid was tested in a preliminary study conducted according to OECD Guideline No. 111, Hydrolysis as a function of pH (2004), under GLP conditions. The percentage of test material hydrolyzed after 5 days was below 10% at pH 1.2 (37°C), 5, 7 and 9 (50°C) and therefore, it can be considered as hydrolytically stable and no further testing is required.
