Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Experimental data on Short Term Toxicity to Fish was available for 1 stream within this Category. The 96h LL50 was 1.1 mg/L (WAF).

Petrotox QSAR results for substances within the category for short term toxicity (EL50) for fish ranged from 5.54 -19.05 mg/L.

Additional information

All experimental short term toxicity to fish data came from ExxonMobil (2003).

CAS No 68513-69-9 and 68921-67-5: The 96-hour LL50 was reported to be 1.1 mg/L, and LC50 1.0 mg/L. The study was GLP compliant and followed a standard guideline, and is therefore considered reliable and suitable for use as a key study. Although the LC50 was reported to be 1.0 mg/L, as the test substance is a hydrocarbon stream with various components the reporting of a measured concentration does not relate to the concentration of a raw stream. The results reported as WAF were used instead as they better represent the potential toxicity of the test substance.

Petrotox QSAR results on substances within the category for short term toxicity (EL10) for fish had results ranged from 5.54 - 19.05 mg/L.
