Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

With an LD 50 (oral, rat) of 1285 mg/kg this substance must be classified for Acute Toxicity Category 4 with GHS pictogram exclamation mark (GHS07), signal word Warning and H302: Harmful if swallowed.

This level of oral toxicity (rat) is supported by the LD50 (oral, rat) as mentioned in the OECD SIDS for the analogue substance 2,2’6,6’-TETRAMETHYLPIPERIDIN-4-OL (CAS 2403 -88 -5) which is missing the CH3-group on the nitrogen atom, and as measured by OECD TG401: 1482 mg/kg (male) and 1564 mg/kg (female). This OECD SIDS has been attached to the IUCLID dossier.
