Executive summary:

A population of Daphnia magna was exposed to metavanadate during 14 weeks under continuous flow through conditions. Three concentrations of the toxicant were used: 0.56, 1.0 and 1.8 mg/L. Effects of metavanadate were observed every week: population dynamic, mean lenght of daphnids and production of eggs. The test was carried out under standard protocol, but the methodology and the dilution medium were well described.

A 14 weeks NOEC value of 0.56 mg V/L was shown for the effect of metavanadate on ephippia production and a NOEC of 1.0 mg V/ L was observed for mortality (promotion effect up this concentration).
