Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure is predicted by MPBPWIN QSAR as0.041 Pa at 25 deg C using an experimental melting point of 51.5 deg C. The mechanism simply relates descriptors to a predicted value using a mathematical physchem expression using the Modified Grain Method. The descriptors fall within the data set used to validate the model.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.041 Pa

25 °C

Additional information

The use of a melting point to predict the vapour pressure, which is expected to achieve better results than relying on an estimated melting point as an input. Based on the results of a validation exercise during MPBPWIN development, there is increasing uncertainty in predictions for substances with very low vapour pressure. Although predicted to have a low vapour pressure, the estimated value for this substance is relatively high compared with the data set used in the validation exercise. As uncertainties in the predicted value of the vapour pressure are not expected to significantly affect the safety assessment or safe handling of the substance based on the intended use under the EU REACH Regulation, the predicted valueis considered adequate for the purpose of a registration at 1 to 10 tpy under the EU REACH Regulation for the intended use.
