Description of key information

By applying weight of evidence approach the endpoint values was found to be EC50=162mg/l;NOEC=3.211644mg/l and LOEC=21.7231 mg/l in a 72 to 120 hrs.study on the basis of growth and population effect. Thus, considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance , it is concluded that Phenetole does not exhibit toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria(Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
3.212 mg/L

Additional information

Based on studies reviewed for toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria from reliable sources having Klimish rating 2and 4 for target and readacross.
