The calculated log Pow value of 5-methylheptan-3-one (2.147) falls into the range of measured log Pow values of other ketones (2 heptanone 1.98 , 2-octanone 2.76, 2-nonanone 3.18). Increased water solubility of these substances corresponds to decreased log Kow values. The measured water solubility of 5-methylheptan-3-one (1920 mg/L) falls into the range of the water solubility for 2-heptanone (4076mg/L), 2-octanone (1135 mg/L) and 2-nonanone (371 mg/L) measured in this study.
