Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Study waived. No inhibition observed in several ready biodegradablity studies. The concentrations applied (Müller 2.4 mg/L = 2.14 mg/L DOC; Eisner 20 mg/L = 58 mg/L ThOD; King 11.24 mg/L = 10 mg/L DOC) are within a range that can realistically be expected at the influent of waste water treatment plants.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
20 mg/L

Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) No 1207/2006, Annex VIII, column 2, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is found to be readily biodegradable and the applied test concentrations are in the range of concentrations that can be expected in the influent of a sewage treatment plant. As demonstrated in section biodegradability, the substance is considered as being readily biodegradable. The concentrations applied in the ready biodegradability studies (Müller 2.4 mg/L = 2.14 mg/L DOC; Eisner 20 mg/L = 58 mg/L ThOD; King 11.24 mg/L = 10 mg/L DOC) are within a range that can realistically be expected at the influent of waste water treatment plants. Furthermore the test item did not inhibit microbial activity in the toxicity controls. The study on toxicity of micro-organisms therefore can be waived.
