Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the test item was assessed over a 28 day period by the Manometric Respirometry Test (OECD 301F). The test material attained up to 84 % biodegradation after 28 days. These results indicate that the test item is readily biodegradable under conditions of the test. The 10-day window (14 days) is fulfilled. Based on the chemical similarity (both are fatty acid esters, epoxidized; test substance = isooctyl ester, REACH substance = methyl ester) the REACH substance is assessed to be readily biodegradable.

As discussed with ECHA in the frame of a Dossier Improvement Action Plan (DIAP), further a biodegradation testing according to OECD Guideline 301 B of the substanceFatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., Me esters, epoxidized is ordered.
