Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

This study was waived (see section "Discussion" below).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Although liquids are not formally exempted from flammability testing, the primary value for ease of ignition of a liquid is the flash point. As information on the flash point of Isopentyl p-methoxycinnamate is available (please see the results of the flammability study), an additional flammability study is not necessary (see chapter 7A, section R.7.1.10 of the ECHA guidance).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The flash point of Isopentyl p-methoxycinnamate was determined at 194°C and thus, is well above the threshold value of 35°C which demarcates a flammable from a non-flammable liquid. Accordingly, Isopentyl p-methoxycinnamate is not classified as a flammable liquid as defined in the current EU-CLP regulation.
