Description of key information

Surface tension is 38.1 mN/m at 24.7°C and therefore the substance an be considered to have surface active properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
38.1
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
50

Additional information

The surface tension of the test item was examined in a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 115, EU-Method A.5 (plate method) and ISO 304 -1985. The mean surface tension of an aqueous solution of 0,05 g/L of the test item was determined to be 38.1 mN/m at 24.7 °C. Because the test item shows a surface tension lower than 60 mN/m, the test item can be considered to have surface active properties.
