Description of key information

Under OECD guideline 203 and EU method C1 conditions, the 96h-LC50 of AMA is 4.2 mg/L (a.i.)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
4.2 mg/L

Additional information

An acute toxicity study was performed on AMA in accordance with the EU method C1 and OECD Guideline 203 and under GLP. Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were exposed to AMA at nominal concentrations of 0 (control) - 0.56 - 1 - 1.8 - 3.2 - 5.6 and 10 mg/L (active ingredient) under static conditions. The 96 -h LC50 was 4.2 mg/L (a.i.) with a confidence interval (95%) of [3.2 - 5.6] mg/L. No mortality was observed in control and 100% observed at 5.6 mg/L. Based on the results of this study, AMA would be considered as toxic to fish.

This study satisfies the guideline requirement for Rainbow Trout toxicity study and is considered as valid.
