Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Remarks:
The study is regarded as reliable without restrictions because it was conducted in compliance with and guideline. The study was not conducted in compliance with GLP regulation but it was ensured that equivalent measures were met. Test material PERLKA (formulation of calcium cyanamid). For read across justification please refer to IUCLID section 13.

Conclusions:
The dusting tendency of PERLKA concerning A-dust was determined to be very low (< 9.01 mg/kg) and the dusting tendency concerning E-dust was determined to be low (< 268 mg/kg).
Executive summary:

The dusting tendency of PERLKA was determined with IGF-dusting apparatus according to DIN 33897 Part 2 "Continuous case in counter-current" and in accordance with EN 15051 method B. With this apparatus, the dust evolution during a fall event was simulated. The alveolar penetrating A-dust and the respirable E-dust was measured. The standardized minimum measurement duration is 10 minutes. To improve the detection sensitivity, the measurement time was extended to 30 minutes. The dusting tendency concerning A-dust was determined to be very low (< 9.01 mg/kg) and the dusting tendency concerning E-dust was determined to be low (< 268 mg/kg).

Description of key information

The dusting tendency concerning alveolar penetrating dust was determined to

be very low (< 9.01 mg/kg) and the dusting tendency concerning respirable dust was determined to be low (< 268 mg/kg) for PERLKA (formulation of calciumcyanamide).
