Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

Non-human information

There is no skin sensitization data for CAS # 102242 -57 -9 available but for the single components which can be used for read across:

Benzene (ca. 50 % in CAS # 102242 -57 -9):

Although there are no GLP guideline compliant studies the skin sensitisation potential of benzene was assessed in a mouse ear swelling test (MEST) and a reduced guinea pig maximisation test (GPMT) using neat benzene. None of the mice and none of the guinea pigs showed any evidence of sensitisation (Gad et al, 1986).

Other components of the mixture (CAS # 108 -87 -2, # 108 -88 -3, # 110-82 -7, # 592 -41 -6, # 78 -78 -4, 287 -92 -3, # 1330 -20 -7, # 110 -54 -3) are also no skin sensitizers based on the data presented on the ECHA website (http://echa.europa.eu/information-on-chemicals/registered-substances).

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Based on the overall available information, there is no indication for a skin sensitizing effect.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the overall available information, there is no indication for a skin sensitizing effect.
