C12-C18 TMAC is readily biodegradable. However, based on the reliable studies, the 14 day NOEC values of the structurally similar C12-C16 ADBAC in earthworm were 517 and 953 mg a. i. /kg soil dw and LC0values were >517 and 7,070 mg a. i. /kg soil dw. Furthermore for the terrestrial plants, the 16 day EC50values of the structurally similar C12-C16 ADBAC in soil, were 537, 634 and 1,960 mg a. i. /kg soil dw for S. alba, T. pratense and T. aestivum, respectively. Also, the activity of the micro-organisms transforming nitrogen in the soil was slightly inhibited by the structurally similar test substance C12-C16 ADBAC at 50 mg a. i. /kg. The EC50calculated was 130 mg a. i. /kg. Furthermore, C12-C16 ADBAC have no long-term influence on nitrogen and carbon transformations in sandy loam and low humic content sand soils. Therefore, it can reasonably be assumed that there is no significant long-term exposure of the substance to soil macro and micro-organisms or birds and mammal. However, some toxicity was observed in the terrestrial plants.
