Description of key information

The kinematic viscosity of 33.6% solution of the test substance was determined to be 30.2 and 22.3 mm2/sec at 20 and 40°C, respectively (Krack, 2008).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
30.2 mm²/s (static)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The viscosity was determined according to a guideline study, using the capillary viscometer at 20 and 40°C. For every temperature, three test series were performed. Each test series consisted of five to ten tests. The test substance was filled into the capillary viscometer and the efflux time was measured. Due to foamy property of the test substance an automatic measurement by means of the viscometer was only possible for one measurement at 40C. The flow time of all measurements was measured by a stop watch. For calculation of the kinematic viscosity, average value of the efflux time was taken.
