Description of key information

The surface tension was determined to be 24.04 ± 0.05 mN/m at a concentration of 1 g/L (Bodsch J, 2008).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
24.04
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

The surface tension of the substance was determined according to a guideline study . The critical micelle concentration was also determined.

1 g/L (total volume 200 mL), prepared in HPLC water, was used to determine the surface tension in 10 measurements with a tensiometer. Different concentrations of the test substance in the range of 0.05 to 10 g/L (total volume 200 mL), prepared in HPLC water, were applied for the determination of critical micelle concentration at a temperature of 20°C. The surface tension was determined to be 24.04 ± 0.05 mN/m at a concentration of 1 g/L (Bodsch J, 2008).
