Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No study was considered robust enough to be a key study and so a weight of evidence approach was used.
Vapour pressure.001: The vapour pressure of tributylaluminium ranged from 0.0041 mm Hg at 40 ºC to 759 mm Hg at 240 ºC.
Vapour pressure.002: The vapour pressure of tributylaluminium is < 1 hPa (< 0.75 mmHg) at 80 ºC.

Additional information

No methodological information is available for either of the studies. As such, both were assigned a Klimisch rating of 4, and therefore neither could be considered robust enough to be a key study. A weight of evidence was adopted.

The vapour pressure at 80 ºC is 0.235 mmHg according to Vapour pressure.001 and < 0.75 mmHg according to Vapour pressure.002. This shows the two studies are approximately in agreement with each other. The low vapour pressure values indicate that exposure by inhalation would be unlikely.
