Description of key information

The test item is considered to be non-explosive because there are no chemical groups that can be associated with explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

non explosive

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The classification of the test item as a non-explosive substance is based on the absence of groups associated with explosive properties as outlined in the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessments, Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, European Chemicals Agency, May 2008, p.126 -133. Even though the test item does not have any group that can be associated with explosive properties, the Oxygen Balance (OB) for the decomposition reaction of the test item was also calculated and its value was below the threshold in the guidance, hence the test item can be considered as having no explosive properties.

Classification of the test item as explosive is not warranted in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008
