Additional information

Short-term toxicity to fish

The EC50-96h value obtained for t-butyl peroxy isobutyrate was determined to be 8.7 mg/L . The 96 h-EC50 value corresponding to a solution containing 75 % t-butyl peroxy isobutyrate was estimated to be 11.6 mg/L.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Under the experimental conditions, the 48-hour EL50 of the test substance (75 % t-butyl peroxy isobutyrate in isododecane) in a static test system is 231 mg/L expressed as initial loading rate, corresponding to 72.5 mg/L expressed as actual concentration (calculated from geometric means of measured concentrations in the saturated solutions obtained from the loading rates tested), for Daphnia magna.

Toxicity to aquatic algae

In an algal inhibition test (used organisms: Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) the 72h-EC50 (growth rate) and 72h-NOEC (growth rate) of t-butyl peroxy isobutyrate in a static system were determined to be 6.13 mg/L and 0.28 mg/L, respectively. The 72 h-EC50 (growth rate) and 72h-NOEC (growth rate) value corresponding to a solution containing 75 % t-butyl peroxy isobutyrate were estimated to be 8.17 mg/L and 0.37 mg/L, respectively.

Toxicity to microorganisms

The 3-hour EC50 of t-butyl peroxyisobutyrate was determined to be 207 mg/L for activated sludge.
