Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

As no effects were observed at the water solubility limit, no LOEC can be determined and no NOEC can be derived. The NOEC was therefore stated to be equal or higher than the highest concentration tested. NOEC = 1000 mg/kg dw

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10, LC10 or NOEC for freshwater sediment:
1 000 mg/kg sediment dw

Additional information

The toxicity of [14C]-test substance, when incorporated into sediment, to the endobenthic oligochaete Lumbriculus variegatus was assessed over 28 days in a sediment-water test system according to OECD 225 testing guideline. As the substance is complex and it contains highly insoluble components, any chemical analyses would not be representative of the test substance, as potentially only the most soluble components would be detectable.

Therefore, only the nominal concentrations were used to appraise the ecotoxicological data. Radiochemical analyses were performed to check their feasibility for a following bioaccumulation test in sediment worm carried out according to OECD 315 testing guideline.

No statistical analysis was conducted for this test, because no negative effects (mean values in treatments higher than those in control) on reproduction, biomass and on survival were observed. As no effects were observed at the water solubility limit, no LOEC can be determined and no NOEC can be derived. The NOEC was therefore stated to be equal or higher than the highest concentration tested.
