Description of key information
The test substance being highly insoluble, no analytical methods were suitable to assess the concentrations in test medium. Therefore, WAF solutions were prepared and result analyses were based on initial loading rates. No significant inhibition of reproduction was observed at the highest loading rate tested (20 mg/L) at Day 21.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
Analytical verification of test concentrations was not conducted during this study as it was not possible to develop a suitably sensitive analytical method for the analysis of 99422018 in Elendt M4 medium. Results throughout this report are therefore based on initial loading rates.
The first offspring were observed on Day 8 in all treatment groups.
Statistical analysis was conducted in order to estimate the effect 99422018 had on D. magna reproduction.
No significant inhibition of reproduction was observed at the highest loading rate tested (20 mg/L) at Day 21. As no LOEC at Day 21 can be determined, no NOEC was derived.
During the test, test solution quality parameters were within the following ranges: pH: 6.83-8.33; temperature: 19.4-21.4°C and dissolved oxygen concentration: 51.7-104.5% of air saturation value.
All validity criteria for a valid test were met; mortality in the parent D. magna did not exceed 20% (2 daphnids), the mean number of offspring produced per control adult was 97 (validity criteria >=60) and the coefficient of variation around the mean number of offspring produced per control adult was 15.7% (validity criteria =<25%).
