Conclusions:
The partition coefficient (1-octanol / water) of 2 -chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine was determined as logPow = 2.1.
Executive summary:

The partition coefficient (1-octanol/water) of 2 -chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine (CCMP) was determined according to OECD 117 guideline and EEC-guideline 92/69/EWG A.8, HPLC-method. Therefore, 9

neutral calibration substances were injected into a HPLC-system under the same analytical conditions (column temperature 40°C) as the test item. A calibration curve was created by using the measured retention times and the known log Pow-values of the calibration substances for linear regression.

From the resulted calibration curve and its equation the log Pow of the substance had been interpolated. The partition coefficient (1-octanol / water) of 2 -chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine was determined as logPow = 2.1.
