Description of key information

The substance is stable, not an organic peroxide, not self-heating, not self-reactive, and not corrosive to metals.

Justification for classification or non-classification

- The substance is stable.

- The substance is a solid and the UN Test method C.1 as described in the ‘Manual of Tests and Criteria’ (part III, sub-section 37.4) is applicable only to substances and mixtures in the liquid state. Therefore, the test criteria of metal corrosion do not apply and the substance is considered as non-corrosive to metal.

- The substance has no self-heating properties, as no exothermic effects were determined in a grewer oven test, which refers to Appendix 6, point 5.2.2 of the UN Manual ‘Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods – Manual of Tests and Criteria’.

- The substance is not self-reactive, based on the results of a differetial thermal analysis, showing a heat of decomposition of > 300 J/g.

- The substance shows no chemical groups associated with organic peroxide according to the UN recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods which is cited in the GHS chapter 2.15 the substance is not an organic peroxide.
