Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
-18 °C

Additional information

A GLP study was conducted (BASF SE, SIK-Nr. 14/0912) to determine the flash point of the test item. Using the closed cup method according to Able the Flash point of the test item was determined to be -18 °C at 1013.25 hPa.

A supporting study was available (BASF AG 1969, A591) to determine the flash point of the substance. Using the closed cup method according to Abel-Pensky the flash point was determined to be -17.8 °C at 1013.25 hPa. In addition the GESTIS database reports the flash point to be -14 °C.

In conclusion, all available data report the flash point in the same range. The flash point determined in the recent GLP study was regarded as most reliable and was therefore chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment.
