Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The weight of evidence from company data is for specific gravity values in the range ca. 1.3 - 1.4 g/cm³ at ambient conditions for various major commercial aqueous solution products relevant for parent acid and/or sodium salt forms. It is considered that the potassium salt solutions would have equivalent properties and these data are validly read across.

Additional information

No relative density of solid values are available, but this does not constitute a data gap since no solid ATMP acid products are known. A number of specific gravity values of individual commercial products are known. While the individual sources are secondary literature, meaning that in most cases the reliabilities are not assignable, overall the weight of evidence is taken to be adequately reliable for the purpose of registration, particularly in view of the acceptance of the data in the HPV program.

1) A relative density of 1.33 at 20 °C is reported in a reliable reference source. The same result is repored in a peer-reviewed data profile published through the OECD HPV program, which is considered reliable with restrictions. This is supported by the following company data of non-assignable reliability:

2) Values of 1.3 g/cm³ at 20 °C for four separate commercial forms of this substance are listed in the online product specification data for a major European producer.

3) A specific gravity of 1320-1360 kg/m³ at 20 °C is reported in a company MSDS for a major European producer. The original reference was not available for review and no further information is available.

4) A typical specific gravity of 1.33 ± 0.02 is reported in a company product data sheet for a major European importer. The original reference was not available for review and no further information is available.

5) A specific gravity of 1.33 at 20 °C is reported in a company MSDS for a major European producer. The original reference was not available for review and no further information is available.
