Additional information

In water dibutyl ether is not susceptible to hydrolysis and will only biodegrade slowly. Dibutylether is not susceptible to hydrolysis due to the lack of hydrolyzable functional groups. Indirect photolysis in water is expected to occur with a half-life of approximately 13 hours based on results for a similar compound. In air, the compound will degrade by reaction with hydroxyl radicals with a half life of approximately 16 hours.
