Additional information

The toxicity of the test material to aquatic plants was investigated in the algaeSelenastrum capricornutumin accordance with the standardised guideline EPA OPP 122-2. During the study, the algal culture was exposed to the test material at nominal concentrations of 0.78, 1.6, 3.2, 6.5, 13, 25, 50 and 100 mg/L under static conditions; all tests were conducted using water soluble fractions. Under the conditions of the study, the 96 hour NOEC, based on a reduction on cell density, was determined to be 13 mg/L. The 96 hour EC50 value (and 95% confidence limits), based on reduction of cell density, were calculated by linear regression to be 22 (3.8 - 130) mg/L. The 96 hour NOEC based on growth rate was determined to be 50 mg/L. The 96 hour ErC50 (and 95% confidence limits) was calculated to be 110 (34 - 290 mg/L), based on growth analyses. The study was performed in line with GLP and accepted standardised guidelines with a high standard of reporting. However, it is scored a Klimisch 2, reliable with restriction, based on potential solubility issues in the preparation of the test material solution.
