No data on toxicity of 3,7-dimethyl-1-ol to algae are available, therefore the presented data are based on results for the structural similar substance 3,7-dimethyl-3-ol. The toxicity of 3,7-dimethyl-3-ol to Scenedesmus subspicatus (Desmodesmus subspicatus)
was determined in a study performed according to German standard DIN 38 412, L9.
The growth rate of algae was reduced by 50 % after 72 hours at a substance concentration of 21.6 mg/l (BASF AG, 1989).
