Description of key information
A study to determine the acute toxicity of ammonium polyphosphate to fish is not submitted for the following reasons:
According to Annex X, section 9.1, column 2 of Regulation No. 1907/2006, “long-term toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicated the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or degradation products on terrestrial organisms”. The chemical safety assessment did not indicate the need to carry out further investigations therefore no long-term toxicity testing is proposed.
